Childbirth Education Frequently Asked Questions

  • A childbirth class helps you feel prepared, confident, and supported as you get ready to welcome your baby. You’ll learn what to expect during labor, how to cope with contractions, and what options are available so you can make informed choices that feel right for you.

Classes also give partners practical ways to be involved, and cover important topics like postpartum recovery and newborn care. By the time your baby arrives, you’ll both feel more ready for birth, and those first few weeks at home, knowing you have the tools and knowledge to navigate them together.

  • Most parents find it helpful to take a class during the late second or early third trimester (around 28–34 weeks). That way the information is fresh in your mind, but you still have plenty of time to practice comfort measures and talk through birth preferences with your partner.

  • A childbirth educator helps you prepare for labor, birth, and postpartum by teaching you what to expect and giving you tools and knowledge ahead of time. A doula provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support during labor and birth. Together, they make a powerful team, education helps you feel prepared, and doula support helps you feel cared for in the moment.

  • Partners are strongly encouraged! Childbirth classes aren’t just about the birthing parent, they also give support people practical ways to help during labor and confidence in their role. Many partners say they walk away feeling much more prepared and connected.

  • Birth can be unpredictable, but classes prepare you for a variety of possibilities. Instead of feeling caught off guard, you’ll understand your options, know how to ask questions, and feel empowered to make the best choices for your family no matter how your baby’s birth unfolds.

Testimonials

  • "Nicole’s virtual class was fun and educational! She helped prepare my partner and I on what to expect during delivery. It gave us all the tools we need to achieve a beautiful and informed birth. There is so much knowledge that Nicole passes on, and I would not have felt as prepared and solidified in my birthing plan without her!”

    - Lindsay

  • “My partner and I loved the classes. Learning from the comfort of our home made it so convenient, and the hands-on approach helped us feel truly prepared for both birth and postpartum. We now feel confident about laboring unmedicated, having a natural birth, and caring for our newborn.”

    - Erin

  • "Wow! I am so glad I took Nicole's Class. For our first child we took a traditional hospital class thinking it was enough to prepare us for birth and it did not. For our second child we scheduled a private session to truly feel prepared for birth and I realized how much we were missing from our first birth! We were actually prepared to birth our baby girl and it led to a significantly better birth experience. This class is 1000% worth it, do not hesitate, it is worth every penny!"
