Car Seat Safety
Keeping your little ones safe on the road doesn’t have to be stressful! As a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST), I help take the guesswork out of car seats so you can feel confident every time you buckle up. From making sure your seat is installed correctly to helping you practice with a newborn doll before baby arrives, I’m here to make safety simple (and a little less overwhelming).
What’s included in a safety check:
Making sure your child’s car seat is installed correctly and showing you how to do it in a way that’s both safe and easy.
Checking that your child is buckled or harnessed properly. Expecting parents can practice with a doll so they feel ready for that first big ride home.
Looking up manufacturer recalls for both your car seat and your vehicle, plus making sure your seat isn’t expired.
Answering all of your car seat safety questions so you leave feeling confident, not confused.
Car seat safety checks usually take about 30 minutes per child passenger (add 15 minutes for each additional seat). Please bring your vehicle owner’s manual and car seat manual. During your appointment, we’ll check the seat while it’s installed, remove it to double-check safety details, and then you’ll reinstall it with guidance so you know you can do it on your own anytime. This service is available at no additional cost for childbirth education students and birth doula clients.
